In this setting there are many interventions that may be helpful for children, teens and adults. EMDR is extremely effective in addressing trauma or the aftermath of painful major adjustments.

In addition to EMDR, the following can be equally effective: DBT, CBT, Energy Psychology such as EFT, a client-centered approach, and Gestalt Therapy.
